The appointment was announced at a ceremony in KICC by Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa.

The musicician was also presented with an award by Deputy President William Ruto together with the water CS at the ceremony that took place at KICC.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, a close friend of the artist now, appointed him as one of the National Authority for Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) board members in 2015.

Jaguar has promised to start a campaign to ensure that every urban slum gets clean water as his first key job.

"I have no doubt partners will come on board and help my department ensure that we, at the lease, get a borehole in every slum as that is my first goal," he said.

"I am therefore inviting anyone or organisation that can in one way or another give views and support in this to come forward and help realise the dream of water to every homestead that the Water and Irrigation ministry is advocating for through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda.”
