Kenyan musician Hubert Nakitare aka Nonini has landed an new lucrative job.
Nonini was on Thursday appointed as the Chairman for Performers Rights Society of Kenya(PRISK).
Through his social media platforms, Nonini assured that he was ready to serve the music industry promising to take it to greater heights.
"I am confident that as PRISK enters the second Strategic Phase of the year 2017-2019 we will achieve, and even surpass, our targets due to a dedicated staff, a capable Board as well as the support and commitment from our members, partners and stakeholders.
"Therefore, on behalf of the Board of Directors and the staff members, I invite you to join usas we move PRISK to greater heights as we realize our vision of being ‘a world-class collective management organization’ promoting the rights of performers," read his statement on the PRISK website.
He acknowledged that the non- profit organization that was founded in 2009 had made tremendous achievements in streamlining the music industry in Kenya.
"We have put in place a scientific distribution system that ensures transparency and accountability in the distribution of royalties to our members and non-members. Currently,we have introduced a new technology in licensing that will ensure that all transactions are done online thereby increasing efficiency and effectiveness in the collection of license fees and disbursement of licenses."This will significantly increase our collections and consequently increase the royalties we pay our members," he added.
