Passengers aboard a Greenline Bus heading towards Nakuru on Tuesday took a bold move and reported their rogue driver to the police at a roadblock in Naivasha leading to his arrest.According to Nation, the travelers were alarmed by the driver's dare devil driving antics leading them to call on the police. The driver was taken to Naivasha police station and arraigned in court within minutes and charged.A passenger, Ms Margaret Njeri who recorded a statement said they were forced to call 999 after they felt that the driver was endangering their lives.“We were all terrified and, together with two of my friends, decided to dial number 999 and the response from the police was prompt,” Ms Njeri said as quoted by the Nation.Naivasha base commander, Joachim Kingangi who confirmed the incident commended the passengers for their brave actions to report the incident and recording a statement.“We have instances where passengers complain about the behaviour of the driver but they are unwilling to record a statement, making it difficult to prosecute the offender,” the base commander said. The driver, Allan Omondi who appeared before a Naivasha Court denied the charges of reckless driving and was granted a Sh40,000 bail or an alternative of a bond of Sh100,000 with a surety of a similar amount.
