The locals were pleased when the Governor hinted that the breed of animals will be distributed by the County government.

The project by the Governor was established in August 2015 and has since grown to 28 animals in the ranch.

The Governor encouraged the locals to invest in dairy farming and make it a profit-generating venture.

The following are some of the comments from Mandera locals.

“Congratulations if a freshian cow can make it in Mandera then I now believe Mandera is a county of endless possibilities it just needs the right person to wheel in the right direction and we are in the right direction. Keep it up Your Excellency,” said Snr Martimad Moha.

Mwalimu Said Al Abass noted.

“Mashaalah our governor and great job. Do something on the market of our agricultural produce both livestock and crop farming. Sahiwal is a very strong dual purpose breed which can do well in this arid area. Farmers should also be sensitized on how to get it,” he said.

Jm mbuguah noted about the quality of the animals.“Your Excellency, the governor your animals are very beautiful and we would like you to distribute the same to serious farmers in Mandera,” Said Jm Mbugua.
