An MP allied to the opposition was among leaders who received Deputy President William Ruto in Mombasa on Friday.
Nyali MP Mohammed Ali was among the few leaders who were at the Moi International Airport in the port city of Mombasa to receive the DP when he landed in the Coastal town to commission multiple development projects.
Ali, before being elected MP was among opposition allied politicians who could not share moments with Ruto as well as President Uhuru Kenyatta because of his constant criticism of the Jubilee administration.
He was an investigative journalist who unearthed government ills ranging from corruption and extrajudicial killings before he joined politics.
From the airport, Ali drove in Ruto's convoy to Jomvu where the two joined other leaders including area MP Badi Twalib before the DP commissioned the Jomvu Kuu-Rabai Road at Jomvu Kuu.
Other leaders present during the project's commissioning included Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, Starehe constituency's Charles Kanyi popularly known as Jaguar and former Kilifi North MP Gideon Mungaro.
Ali during his career in journalism was a dreaded spy man who dared reveal all the evil that happened in government.
On October 15, 2015, the then Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary the late Joseph Nkaissery demanded an apology from the scribe after an investigative piece he did on a mass grave said to be in Mandera where government security personnel were alleged to have killed residents.
