Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga has distanced himself from speculations that he has endorsed specific aspirants for various elective posts during the next general polls.

Speaking in Nyadorera, Rasanga said he has only endorsed former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for the post of president as he eyes the nation’s top seat.

The governor also said he is ready to work with any candidate who will be voted into office because of brotherhood.

"All these aspiring candidates are my daughters and sons. I will depend on their help to lobby for votes in my favour. Endorsing any of the aspirants will be sowing seeds of discrimination," he said as the Standard quoted him.

Rasanga has affirmed that he will beat his competitors hands down because of his great performance scoreboard when August comes.

The governor will battle it out with Siaya Senator James Orengo, Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo, Siaya politician William Oduol and former Regional Development Permanent Secretary Carey Orege.

The entry of Siaya Senato James Orengo into the gubernatorial race has changed the political situation of this region.

The close relationship Orengo shares with Cord Leader Raila Odinga and his experience in the political arena makes him a force Rasanga has to reckon with.
