Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has hit out at Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga for allegedly staging a robbery in his office so as to remove and hide incriminating evidence from the EACC.

Speaking on Sunday at Sirembe market in North Gem ward, Midiwo said it raises suspicion that the governor’s office is left unguarded yet sensitive documents of the county government and its activities lie in there in unlocked drawers.

“It is foolhardy for the governor to claim that his office was broken into and documents stolen just a few days after EACC sleuths raided county offices,” Midiwo said.

Midiwo said that even though Rasanga might think he did away with evidence, most of these documents are in the public domain and evidence will still be produced.
