Seven MPs from Nakuru county have resolved to support Governor Kinuthia Mbugua in his re-election bid in the 2017 general elections.
Under the chairmanship of Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri, the MPs agreed that Mbugua is the better paced person to continue leading the county among all aspirants who have shown interest in the top seat.
At a meeting held in Naivasha, the legislators reached the agreement to rally their constituents into supporting and reelecting Mbugua in next year’s polls.
When contacted on phone Ngunjiri confirmed that indeed they met and agreed to support Mbugua
“Yes we met with the governor and seven members of parliament from Nakuru attended the meeting in Naivasha and we resolved that come next year we will all rally behind Mbugua and support his re-election,” said Ngunjiri.
“Looking at all those candidates who have shown interest in the seat you will realize that Mbugua is the lesser evil among them and that is why we all agreed that we better support the devil we know than the angel we don’t know,” he said.
The members of parliament present at the meeting and reported to have agreed to support Mbugua included Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Samuel Arama (Nakuru West), Joseph Kiuna (Njoro), Jacob Macharia (Molo), Nelson Gaichuhie (Subukia),John Kihagi (Naivasha) and Nderitu Mathenge (Gilgil).
