Mr Odinga fell out with Deputy President William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi, Najib Balala and most recently Ababu Namwamba who resigned as Orange Democratic Secretary General.

Moturi, a veteran politician from Nyamira claims that Odinga needs the former allies dearly for his 2017 presidential quest.

“Honestly, I think Raila should reach his former political allies like Balala, Mudavadi, Ruto and even Ngilu. They were a strong pillar and that is why he made a significant quest in 2007. Things could not go his way if at all he can’t recall that team,” he said.

“I know his vigor and zeal but he needs strong people. In politics, we do not have permanent enmity and he should use that as an advantage to reach these people for his own good,” he added.

Moturi dismissed the current political alignment in Cord as ‘weak’ and insisted that it could not shake the Jubilee regime in 2017 polls.

“The opposition as constituted may get hard times in tackling Jubilee. The other partners of Odinga as generally weak and May have an impact on his presidential bid and that is why he ought to make a bold move and recall his former allies,” he said.
