Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has pleaded with President Uhuru Kenyatta to extend an olive branch to NASA leader Raila Odinga once he is sworn-in for his second term on Tuesday.Samboja said Uhuru needs Raila in order to unite and reconcile Kenyans after the intense electioneering period.Speaking to journalists at his office in Taita Taveta on Sunday, the Wiper Governor said the country will not achieve any development if Uhuru and Raila fail to talk and spearhead unity.Samboja said Kenyans are divided along tribal and political lines as a result of the presidential election."President Kenyatta should reach out to the former Prime Minister (PM) and unite Kenyans who are divided along political lines,” said Samboja.Samboja also asked Uhuru to create an all-inclusive government, arguing that the move will help heal the political wounds being nursed by some Kenyans and politicians.The former media personality at the same time urged NASA top leaders to drop their hard stand lines and embrace dialogue.He said some of the strategies being used by NASA push its agenda forward are hurting Kenyans.He pleaded with Kenyans to embrace unity and shun politicians who advocate for violence.Uhuru will be sworn-in for a second term on Tuesday at the Kasarani stadium.NASA has however maintained that it does not recognize Uhuru's presidency and will continue pushing its reforms agenda forward.
