[Photo|PSCU]Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left for Kenya on Tuesday morning for a lightning visit that will include meetings with 11 African leaders.Despite concerns for Netanyahu’s safety, the premier arrived at JKIA Tuesday morning to attend the inauguration of President Uhuru Kenyatta at Nairobi's Kasarani Stadium. However, Netanyahu was nowhere to be seen at the event where several presidents, deputy presidents, former presidents, state representatives and envoys were present. Before the ceremony started, police fired tear gas to control crowds which tried to force their way into the stadium.Anti-riot police also sealed off Jacaranda grounds, where the opposition's NASA planned to hold a rival rally to mourn supporters allegedly killed by police. An online Israeli newspaper said reports indicated there were concern for Netanyahu’s safety while inside the jam-packed stadium, casting doubt on his attendance of the event.Upon his departure for Nairobi, Netanyahu stated that the purpose of his visit is “to deepen our ties with Africa by forging bonds with countries with which we have no diplomatic relations.”"A source familiar with the prime minister’s travel plans said there were some concerns over his safety in a massive crowd. Hebrew media reports said the Shin Bet security service has therefore not green-lighted an appearance by Netanyahu at Nairobi’s Kasarani Stadium out of concern for his safety," reported The Times of Israel.Below are Twitter reactions about the same.@sarahkimaniAnybody spotted Netanyahu?@wiseoumaAfter it's allover, we'll want to know why @UKenyatta lied to the world that Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would attend his coronation.!@Asamoh_Any footage of @netanyahu at Kasarani?
