Kenyans have expressed disappointment after Nakumatt was kicked out of Mombasa City Mall in Nyali.
The once giant retailer was kicked out of the premises following a court order issued on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the Mombasa Law Courts.I
Nakumatt was accused of defaulting a three months' rent amounting up to Sh27.8 million.Auctioneers threw out goods from the premises prompting some residents to start looting.
Below are Twitter reactions about the same.

Nakumatt Nyali has always been my place for shopping whenever I visit Mombasa. I still can't believe it's been shut down . It's really SAD what is happening to Nakumatt. Our children will be told that once upon a time, there was a supermarket chain called NAKUMATT.
@KinyanBoy
Nakumatt was more than just a private entity, it was a culture. Seeing it die before our eyes isn't easy.Most of us who escape to Coast for holiday always end up at Nakumatt, Mombasa City Mall building, Nyali now dead, evicted over Sh27.8 million rent arrears.
@Amb_Majid
Tragic to see your favourite shopping destinations closed and stormed out of their station all because of bad economy. Nyali city mall and Nakumatt Cinemax have always been my first stopping points for shopping for so many years. Cinemax too is now near closure. Sad.
