NASA leader Raila Odinga's remarks during an interview with an international media house on Tuesday have turned around the political conversations in the country as he appeared to be making an appeal for an interim power-sharing deal with the ruling Jubilee party.

Mr. Odinga told Reuters that it is only an interim government that has to be formed by both Jubilee and NASA shall open avenues for solving the stalemate in Kenya lest it will be impossible for President Uhuru Kenyatta to exercise power for a second term.

“We need to have an interim arrangement of governance involving representatives of both parties and six months will be required to carry out all these changes that we need in our country in order to have proper free and fair election,” said Raila.

He said regardless of the supreme court ruling, his camp shall not relent until they secured what they wanted warning that if President Kenyatta is sworn in, the country shall be at the brink of chaos.

The opposition leader stated that he while the interim government runs the state, he would be in talks with Uhuru Kenyatta to save the country from anarchy.
