A section of Kenyans have accused the giant telecommunication company Safaricom of stealing from them. This was after the release of the 2017 KCPE results on Tuesday. The Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i had asked parents and guardians to send the index numbers of their children to 22252 to be able to get their results. However, majority of Safaricom users were a disappointed lot after they failed to get replies after sending the index numbers despite Ksh25 being deducted from them for every SMS. They took to social media to express their anger. Some asked the company to stop stealing while others notified them they had another alternative after their let down. One user threatened to sue the company following its action. Twitter users had to say this:@akwabi_kevin said, "Now safaricom has confirmed that they want to eat our money.... 22252 or 20042 is not working."kelvohkipsc asked, "@safaricom where are the students results we send for using the no 22252 stop stealing in broad daylight shame on you."@rhobbiem noted, "#KCPE2017 @ Safaricom_Care @SafaricomLtd We've not yet received results 10 hrs later But 25 bob was deducted Why."@MithekaH wrote, "Safaricom is seriously stealing people. Have sought Kcpe results for ten kids and none have received till now."@jwambua said, "@Safaricom_Care today you were a big let down. I sent an sms with index no. to 22252 but never got any response. Luckily there is an alternative. I would not be having the results now."@gitonga_kimathi wrote, "@Safaricom_CareAm still waiting for the reply. If you cant deliver for a service I paid for please return my Kshs 25. Its that simple."
@simonkangethe said, "@Safaricom_Care Refund me the money I used through 22252, or I will sue you."
