NTV Kiswahili news presenter Nimrod Taabu has left many Garissa residents in shock after he reportedly resigned from the Nation Media Group (NMG).
Reports indicate that Nimrod may be headed to a rival media house.
The 41-year-old journalist has been a household name, and following his exit from NTV, this is what residents in Garissa had to say:
“I love Nimrod Taabu and it’s sad that he is leaving NTV since that’s the station I get my news from. But am glad he is not leaving being an anchor,” said Yasmin Najma.
“If you are offered better pay in another media house, you will leave. I wish him all the best in his career,” said Ali Hussein.
“Is there a problem at Nation Media Group? They are losing a huge number of top journalists. Something must be wrong, but I wish Nimrod Taabu all the best at his next stop” said Dakane Afey.
The Nation Media Group has for the last few months been hit with a massive exodus, that has seen veteran journalists including; Linus Kaikai, Jamilla Mohammed, Victoria Rubadiri, Larry Madowo, Pamela Asigi and Enock Sikolia ditch the Kimathi street base media house.
