Kenyans on social media have expressed mixed reactions as Odinga left Nairobi at 1 pm for to Buhera, some 300 kilometers from Harare where the MDC leader will be laid to rest on Tuesday, February 20.

The two leaders first met in 1993 when Odinga led an International Republican Institute team to train political parties and civil society in Zimbabwe for the multi-party elections that were approaching them.

At that time, Tsvangirai was with Zimbabwe Human Rights Forum - a civil society organization founded in 1992 to ensure that the Zimbabwean citizens are informed about human rights and are empowered to defend their own rights.

Below are reactions from Facebook users over Odinga's departure.

"Hon. Morgan installed hope to Rhodesia people. He stood for free democratic Zimbabwe. He believed one day his people will be freed from self-declared life president. The good thing is he has witnessed the fall of Mugabe before his death. Have no doubt Raila will too live to see a Better Kenya, a Kenya without tribal group. History will not forget you. RIP comrade Morgan."

VirKens Wetu wrote:

"Going to say an eternal bye to another loser just like you baba. I hope you pray and repent daily for the youths you have sent to be slaughtered. Remember Morgan was 65 and you are almost 80. Safiri Salama baba."

Sylvester Aura said: "RAO must now "protect" his daughter Winnie. She seems capable of perpetuating his political ideologies. Sad that Fidel died. Rosemary has been unwell, and Junior is "shy"."

Odiemo Abodi K'opiyo said:

"Safe journey and take our condolences to our comrades in Zimbabwe. Your Excellency, when you come back please we need clarity on the issue of MIGUNA."
