NASA leader Raila Odinga on Monday afternoon left the country for Harare, Zimbabwe.Accompanied by his daughter Winnie, Odinga jetted out to attend the burial ceremony of his long-time friend, Zimbabwe opposition leader and Movement for Democratic Change party leader, Morgan Tsvangirai.
The late former prime minister died on Wednesday last week after a long battle with colon cancer.
Kenyans on social media have expressed mixed reactions as Odinga left Nairobi at 1 pm for to Buhera, some 300 kilometers from Harare where the MDC leader will be laid to rest on Tuesday, February 20.
The two leaders first met in 1993 when Odinga led an International Republican Institute team to train political parties and civil society in Zimbabwe for the multi-party elections that were approaching them.
At that time, Tsvangirai was with Zimbabwe Human Rights Forum - a civil society organization founded in 1992 to ensure that the Zimbabwean citizens are informed about human rights and are empowered to defend their own rights.
