News that Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has picked a new running mate has quickly spread and has excited his supporters. Dr. Peter Ketyenya from Kuresoi is the new man to take the position of deputy governor for Nakuru if Governor Kinuthia Mbugua gets re-elected. “He has now addressed the issue that dogged his bid. People were not comfortable with his deputy. The governor has a lot of support and good will from the people. He stands a chance as he has now seen the light.” Noted Alphonse Shiundu.
The governor has opted to drop his serving deputy for Dr. Peter Ketyenya although he decided to stick with Hon. Rutto as his number two going into the Jubilee Party nominations against the counsel of elders and advisors who wished the governor settled for Ezekiel Kesendany, the county’s director for special programs or Richard Rop, the executive for water in the county. “He said that he saw nothing wrong with the deputy as they were working smoothly yet the residents did not find the deputy resourceful and developmental.” Said Ezekiel Kiprop of Kuresoi.
The naming of Dr. Peter Ketyenya expected to endear the governor to his supporters especially those who were against his re-election bid because of the choice for deputy governor.
