Opposition leader Raila Odinga and his frenemy Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria held a close up meeting at the former's Capitol Hill office.
The meeting which featured a section of members of parliament from both sides of the political divide was anchored on reconciliatory efforts to heal the nation from election-related socio-economic wounds.
"As we continue taking the steps towards reconciliation, I have this morning held several meetings with different members of parliament," Raila Odinga said via his social pages, Monday.
Kenyans had interesting responses to the rare meeting saying;
@Feiawale said; "@RailaOdingaBABA as you continue on the paved highway towards Canaan, #WeThePeople will be doing the #LungaLungaDance on the dirt road travelling to Canaan behind @MigunaMiguna's #NRM. If we reach first, we shall reserve your seat Mr President. For now, allow us to resist the forced handshake."
@orege_victor replied; "@RailaOdingaBaba we cherish handshake and for that, we demand compensation of families who died because of you and long-term solution for election justice where our votes count please that should come first to reinstate your effort of unity."
@Wakilimutichilo on his side wrote: "@RailaOdingaWhat about doing what matters hard tackling unemployment, insecurity, implementations of TJRC&Justice Krugller reports?. Unless the above aren’t handled this are just political dramatics & shenanigans!"
@Bonerventure responded: "@RailaOdingaBoss no reconciliation without justice, all beneficiary of electoral fraud should be held accountable, IEBC should be disbanded and comissioners and CEO held for contempt of court, all corrupt deals to be prosecuted then we can talk about healing."
However, a section of repondents sought to side with Mr Odinga.
@ekasoma said: "@RailaOdingaCongratulation Hon. Raila for patriotism you have demonstrated to your country and be an example accrosss Africa and Globe."
"@RailaOdingaYour reconciliation has been received by heaven. This is the perfect will of God. That we dwell in unity ,peace and liberty. God bless you for that wisdom to know Kenya is greater than our ambitions,tribe," @mathengej wrote.
