Ngewa Ward MCA Karungo wa Thang’wa has called on youths to read more influential books rather than being idle.
He said that many youths tend to have no reading habits culture thus the good books that shapes one’s life go to waste and crime becomes rampant.
“The books that are so powerful in career choices go to waste since youths and students ignore them due to poor reading habits,” said the MCA.
The MCA who was speaking on Sunday when he hosted book writers in his ward said that youths and students should visit county libraries more often to keep their minds busy.
He said that students in institutions should embrace the reading culture to perfect their literature thus will boost their language and articulation of words.
Thang’wa added that he is ready to work with young career writers in his ward since writing as a career has a very high demand in the country.
He revealed that plans are underway to establish a modern library in the ward to help boost academics expressing his concern over the few libraries in the county.
Thang’wa also called on well-wishers to help boost education by making a contribution to the sector.
