A secondary school teacher from Teso South constituency has committed suicide.
The teacher is alleged to have resorted to taking his own life after allegedly impregnating a student.
According to the Star, the 28-year-old hanged himself on Sunday over the fear of the girl’s parents.
In his suicide note, the teacher said that he did not want to see his mother subjected to shame and embarrassment.
"Dear Mum I know you love me very much but I don't want to see you going through more embarrassment from me. You have spent so much to educate me but all I had to pay you with is an embarrassment,” the note read.
“I have decided to end my life so that I have peace. I have some of my belongings in Makhanga and some in Simbachai. I have 3000 on the phone which I have left with my Aunt. Some money is also in the bank (details withheld). Goodbye." read the note.
The body was taken to Alupe Mortuary.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
