Kenyan celebrities in general and musicians often do not use their real names while on stage.Most probably that is how they want us to identify them.
Pressured by the curious nature of mankind, I was eager to dig deep and bring on table the real names of our local musicians. Some of these names sound funny anyway, probably, that is the reason why they have kept it away from the public but some others sound interesting.

1. Size 8 - Linet Munyali
The 30 year -old size 8 began is career as a secular musician but later switched to gospel music back in 2013 after purported salvation.Her gospel hits include Mateke, Moto, Yuko na Wewe, Jemedari, Afadhali Yesu and Pale Pale.She is married to popular gospel DJ Mo.
2. Octopizzo - Henry Ohanga
Octopizzo is known better by his hippop music. He claims to be inspired by the likes of Jay Z, Nas, Biggie, 2Pac and many more.He originates from Kibera.
3. Avirl - Judith Nyambura Mwangi
Avirl is one performingKenyan singer-songwriter, actress and entertainer whose works have earned a Nzumari Award, Kisima Music Award, Golden Mic Award and two Chaguo La Teeniez Awards.She was born and rasised in Nakuru County.
4. Nameless - David Mathenge
He is not nameless according to his stage identification.Born in August 1976 ,Nameless is a well known musician and holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Nairobi something his fanatic followers are not aware of.He is married to Wahu, a fellow musician.
5. Bahati - Kevin Kioko
After his parents’ death, young Kevin went to the ABC orphanage in Mathare slums for shelter.He obtaining a C+ in KCSE in 2011 from St Theresa’s Boys in Eastleigh.
It was not until 2012,when he decided to join the music industry and the first single released "Siku ya Kwanza" made him a star almost instantly.Kevin has received various nominations for best video of the year and best collaboration. In 2014, he won the Groove award for the best male gospel singer.
