This will be as a result of the Chief Justice, Willy Mutunga stating that corruption cases should not be stopped. Recently, court reports indicate that more than 17, 000 cases of corruption were laying unattended.

The EACC also said it needed more money to hire more personnel to help in the investigations and compilation of corruption reports since the commission only had 200 staff members who could not do all the work since it was too much for them.

To boost the exercise, Mutunga hired ten new anti-corruption magistrates. Every corruption case will now be tracked to determine how long it is likely to take.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is believed to have directed the EACC to work harder to settle all corruption cases as claimed by Gladys Shollei.

The rise of corruption cases in the country has become a threat to development projects and, therefore, leads to Kenyans living in poverty.

The National Youth Service (NYS) could have changed the lives of many youths in Kibera but it did not since corruption led to the project being stopped. This is just one way corruption can kill development in a country.
