Leaders are ditching the National Super Alliance (NASA) in large numbers due to lack of internal democracy in the Opposition alliance.According to Hamisi Waswa, Western Kenya Jubilee Youth Caucus Chairman, politicians are dumping the Raila Odinga-led group after realising that the principles they stand for can only be achieved while in the ruling party."Whenever a leader in NASA speaks their mind against the principals, they are treated as Jubilee moles. This act of targeting individuals with different views has killed democratic rights and principles in NASA, thus leading to the exodus being witnessed," he said.Bungled party nominations, he pointed out, has also frustrated some aspirants forcing them to leave."Shambolic primaries have denied some of the leaders an opportunity to represent their people. Such leaders decided to run as independent candidates and won," he noted.Waswa said the defectors will play a great role in helping Jubilee achieving its agenda."Some of them have great development ideologies that might propel this country to great heights but they have been denied space in the Opposition," the youth leader added.Among the high profile politicians who have joined Jubilee include Hassan Omar, Moses Akaranga, David Musila, Fred Gumo, Paul Otuoma, Ababu Namwamba, Suleiman Shakombo, David Nkedianye, Yusuf Chanzu and others.
