Nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi has advised Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi to maintain his stand on the ongoing debate on constitutional reforms because he shall benefit in the new power equation.
Osotsi said Mudavadi has in the past worked towards the implementation of the Bomas draft and he should support the new initiative that closely relates to it.
Speaking after he flagged off JJ Heart run project in Mbale town, Vihiga County, Osotsi said Mudavadi should ignore biased advice from some of his friends who are driven by cheap personal vendetta and are opposing anything proposed by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The JJ initiative is led by Joseph Jamenya a Vihiga based journalist and aims at setting up a modern cardiac center and he will be in the next one month be traveling across the county to raise awareness about the disease.
Osotsi contributed sh100,000 towards the initiative and promised to lobby for local and donor support to deal with the increasing cases of Heart-related diseases.
He also said that the country was ready for the constitutional change to correct a few anomalies that could have been over sighted in the writing of the 2010 constitution.
. "When we passed the current constitution, there was unanimity that it was 80percent good. We want to cure the 20percent bad part which has threatened to break down the country, our party leader should lead from the front in this initiative," said Osotsi.
Early in the week, Mudavadi did oppose the move to change the constitution on devolution and structure of the executive that was recently fronted for by Raila claiming that it was untimely.
