According to the Jubilee MP who has been branded as a rebel, the DP has failed to address issues affecting the local residents of in his home county of Uasin Gishu.

He challenged him to focus on first ensuring farmers issues are fully addressed before seeking support in the 2022 poll noting that, "these are the very same people you (DP Ruto) will need in 2022."

“Last Friday, the Deputy President William Ruto promised farmers that they will be paid for the maize delivered to National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) but up to now nothing has been done," said Tiren during a meeting at Elgeyo Sawmills in his constituency.

He blamed the government for being reluctant in addressing farmer’s plea despite the agriculture falling under the Jubilee's Big Four agenda.

“Our farmers are under financial constraints since they depend on maize payments as their main source of livelihood and little attention is given to address the issue," said the Moiben legislator.

The MP urged the government to be faithful in fulfilling their promises.

Nicholas Kirwa, a farmer from Soy constituency expressed disappointment saying they have been patient enough and they might reconsider withdrawing their Maize from the NCPB depots in the NorthRift.

“NCPB owes us Sh5 billion from the maize we delivered since December,” said Kirwa.
