Taita Taveta governor hopeful Dan Mwazo has rubbished NASA’s threat to boycott the August polls over the controversial Sh2.5 billion ballot paper printing tender.

Mwazo said NASA’s threat to snub the August polls is an act of fear. The Senator, who ditched ODM in favour of Jubilee, claimed that Raila Odinga is afraid of losing for the fourth time and is looking for ways to avoid taking part in the election. In an interview with the Standard, Mwazo asked NASA to stop issuing threats and ultimatums.“NASA leaders must stop issuing threats and instead work with the government on ensuring peaceful polls,” said Mwazo, as quoted by the daily. He asked Kenyans to ignore the ultimatums and threats being issued by the opposition leaders.NASA has threatened to boycott the August election over the Sh2.5 billion ballot paper printing tender that IEBC awarded to a Dubai based firm, Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing. The opposition wants the controversial tender canceled claiming it is a plot by the ruling government to rig the polls. The IEBC has however dismissed NASA’s claims, saying the tender was above board and cannot be cancelled.
