Speaking at Gusii cultural hall during the Public Accounts and Appropriation Committee forum, Onyonka challenged the Land Commission to investigate the matter to give room for development.

Onyonka said that the constructions of the houses which was supposed to be done in the land were taken to Keroka and Nyamira since the land has issues from individuals who claimed to be the owners.

“Our police officer in Kisii town need good houses and even better offices but due to some individuals who are claiming to own the land, the projects were taken to Keroka and Nyamira but now we need the land developed,” said Onyonka.

In addition, he said that the police land should be in the report of the lands Commission which concluded their public hearing a few days ago.

“We want the NLC to have a report about the land since we need the land back so that we can develop it in terms of constructing houses for our security officers as one way of strengthening security,” he added.
