In a media statement, Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery directed Kambi to record statements immediately.

Nkaissery said that the allegations on the killers of Muchai made by Kambi must be investigated.

The CS further directed Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a, Gatundu MP Moses Kuria and Juja lawmaker Francis Munyu to also record statements with the police.

“I hereby direct Kazungu Kambi to avail himself for questioning at the CID over the alleged killers of Muchai,” the statement read in part.

Addressing mourners at the burial of the fallen Kabete MP, Kambi linked some individuals to the death of the MP.

Kambi further alleged that the same people have threatened him several times, adding that he will resign if the government fails to nail the said individuals.

“I am ready to resign if the government does not go for the major and prominent individuals who killed Muchai,” said the CS.

Juja MP Francis Munyu accused the Central Organisation of Trade Union (Cotu) top officials of being behind the killing of the MP.

He alleged that the failure by Cotu officials to attend the burial of the late MP is an indication they were allegedly involved.

“If indeed their hands are clean, where are they, they should have been here mourning their colleague,” he added.

Thika lawmaker Alice Ng’ang’a claimed that the killing of Muchai was masterminded by his enemies.

He asked the government to go for the culprits who killed the MP together with his driver and two aides last weekend.

“The government must quickly arrest top prominent people involved in the killing of the MP,” she said.

Muchai was buried on Friday at his home in Ruai with thousands of mourners turning out to give him the last respects.
