Coast-based singer Otile Brown has been dealt a major blow in his music career after his former boss Dr Eddie barred him from performing his hit songs in events following their recent fallout.
Dr Eddie, who is the owner of Dreamland Music Empire, barred Brown from performing the songs after the artist took to social media to inform his fans that he will no longer be working with the recording company.
The company barred the song writer from performing all the songs he recorded while still working under Dr Eddie, citing breach of contract.
Eddie said Brown walked out of a valid contract, adding that he is no longer entitled to the songs. The company claims it has been financing Brown by paying his monthly bills before he announced his departure from the recording label.
“We wish to let all musicians and stakeholders know that all the songs and videos produced in our studios namely… Shujaa Wako, Imaginary Love, Dejavu, Everything, Basi, Pakate, Alivyonipenda, Niseme Nawe & Aiyolela…are owned by Dreamland Music Empire. He is henceforth prohibited by the clauses in the contract he signed to use them in performances or business purposes,” read part of Eddie’s statement, seen by MediaMaxNetwork.
