The National Police Service (NPS) is today (Thursday May 11) conducting a nationwide recruitment exercise.
The Service seeks to absorb 10,000 new police constables, for a nine-month training session at the Kenya Police Training College in Kiganjo, Nyeri and Administration Police Training College (APTC) in Embakasi, Nairobi.
Recruitment centres at the constituency levels open at 8am to 5pm, according to the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet.
He indicated all applicants recruited for the training will work for a minimum of ten years.
''Applicants recruited for the training into the service shall be bonded to serve in the National Police Service for a minimum of ten years,” said, Boinnet.
Persons eligible for recruitment should have scored a mean grade of D+ (plus), in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and a D+ in English or Kiswahili languages.
They must also be aged between 18 to 28-years.
The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) mandated Boinnet to oversee the exercise, which takes place in Kenya's 292 constituency headquarters.
