This comes following heavy rains that left more than a hundred families homeless.

Speaking on Saturday at Bangladesh after distributing food items and other goods to the affected families, Mr Rajab said the organisation is working towards ensuring the victims get back to their normal lives.

“We are trying our level best to ensure that these victims do not suffer from lack of food or outbreak of diseases such as cholera. We will continue to ensure they access humanitarian assistance from the Red Cross to ensure they get back to their normal lives,” said Rajab.

The Mombasa Red Cross Coordinator also thanked the county government for their support in helping the families.

“We also want to specifically thank the county government of Mombasa for assisting us in this mission. We have received many things including food items from the county and this is a positive step to take,” added Rajab.

Rajab said that they are also trying to integrate the affected families with other willing families within the area.
