Kibulgeny location senior chief David Simatei has raised concerns over increased cases of children dropping out of school in the area.Speaking in Eldoret town on Friday, Simatei said some parents had forced their children to drop out of school so that they can be used as cash cows."It is sad that many children, especially in the Kambi Turkana slums have dropped out of school in the name of parents using them to earn a living, this is uncalled for an infringement of the children's rights," noted the senior chief."I want to give a stern warning to such parents that they will be arrested and charged for denying their children their right to education which is being given free of charge by the Jubilee administration," he added.Simatei revealed that he had already directed assistant chiefs and village elders to carry out a door to door search and ensure no child who has attained the age of going to school is at home."Education is the only investment that a parent can give his/her children and I will not allow dreams of our children to be shuttered yet the government is offering free education," he said.
