Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has warned county government workers against laziness.
He said the county officials must be committed and dedicated to their work, failure to which they will be fired.
Speaking on Wednesday at his offices, Kinyanjui announced plans to redeploy senior staff in all the sub-counties.
He said the first to be moved will be the 11 sub-county administrators in a move aimed at enhancing service delivery.
"I have noticed weaknesses in the sub-county administration. I need people who can help me deliver on my promises," he said.
"This will also ensure even distribution of the county government workforce," the county bosses added.
Last year, Kinyanjui suffered a setback in his efforts to reform sub-county administration when the Labour Relations Court reinstated the administrators he had sacked.
The 11 sub-county bosses successfully challenged in court the decision to send them on compulsory leave.
Kinyanjui said the officials have been given new administrative roles in various departments.
