Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has hit out at Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua over regular attacks on Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
In an interview on Radio Citizen on Wednesday, Mutula took issue with Mutua's recurrent condemnations on the Wiper party, noting that the move is likely to affect his future political aspirations.
Mutula told the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader to stop the trend and instead join Kalonzo's recently launched national cohesion band wagon ahead of the forthcoming 2022 general elections.
''It is sad that Mutua is always out to attack his own people rather than join hands with them for the sake of the Kamba community's well being,'' Mutula said.
''He has to refrain from his regular attacks on Kalonzo and instead join his brothers and sisters in championing for development and national unity,'' he added.
This follows the Governor's recent swipe on Musyoka's move to re brand the Wiper party into 'One Kenya Movement' (OKM), a decision that was announced during a Kamba leaders' meeting held in Machakos on Monday.
Mutua, who snubbed the event that brought together leaders from the entire Lower Eastern Region, termed the convention as a one community and party affair, maintaining that he will not be involved in such forums.
