The most disadvantaged groups, however, are the teenagers pursuing their education in the country under the Kenyan education system.

The young scholars in the various educational institutions in the country are now urging the Jubilee government to allow them to complete their schooling, which thereafter, they will then go back to Somalia to spearhead development.

Hussein Noor, a 19-year-old form three student at Waberi Secondary is now calling upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to spare them from the shocker and offer them a chance to complete their education.

‘'I wish President Kenyatta can just allow us to complete our education here. We don’t know how Somalia is at the moment. I am now in form three and my schooling will just be useless because I will have no certificate, my dreams will die out,’' said Rahma Noor.

On Thursday last week, the world celebrated the day of the African Child, whose theme was 'Conflict and Crisis Resolution in Africa: Protecting Children Rights'.

This theme further highlights the plights of children like Noor whose lives and dreams have been shattered by the currently witnessed insecurity in Somalia.
