Ruiru Hospital is now fully operational following the opening of an operation theatre commissioned by the Kiambu County government.
The hospital was opened after refurbishing and procurement of new equipment.
County Health CeC Dr Jonah Mwangi has said the hospital now has a bed capacity of 50 and they are working to increase the number.
Speaking when he toured the hospital on Friday, Dr Mwangi added that the number of nurses in the hospital will be increased from September this year when the county government hires more nurses. The nurses will be dispatched to all the hospitals in Kiambu County to improve service delivery.
At the same time, Dr Mwangi revealed that the construction of a Kidney Centre in Ruiru Sub-County is in the pipeline. He said that the facility will help Kiambu residents and not to seek services outside the country.
He called on the medics and health practitioners in the area to work decently and maintain the residents’ confidence in them.
