Kisumu County Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga has now turned the heat on Nyanza Regional Coordinator Francis Mutie over the ownership of Prosperity House that is at the centre of a tussle.

Odinga now claims that the residential house Mutie is occupying was given to Governor Jack Ranguma by the Transition Authority.

She said Mutie must now vacate the residential house to pave way for occupation by the governor who is living in a residential house.

“Let Mutie relinquish that house first to Ranguma before he can tell us to vacate Prosperity House,” he said.

She said the county government is now cash trapped and cannot afford to rehabilitate another house for the governor.

Addressing a press conference in Kisumu on Wednesday at Acacia Hotel, Odinga said the county government offices will not be moved from Prosperity House noting that there was a split in the assets.

She said the 14 storey building was in a pathetic condition when the county government moved into the offices.

Odinga said the county government could not spend more resources to put up an office block when the building was lying idle.

“The building has been lying idle for all these years, when we moved in now they want us out, why,” she asked.

The county government has been given a 90-days notice to vacate the premises or renegotiate for a tenancy deal.
