Nyamira County Governor John Nyaragama has asked youths to register companies for them to benefit from contracts in the next financial year.
Speaking at a youths forum, Nyagarama urged the youths to register companies and stop blaming the county government for not awarding them tenders and yet they do not have active companies.
“Registration of companies is not expensive be two three youths contribute money and register a company , I know some of the contractors use the youths by including them in the company profiles and after winning the tenders they dump the youths. Be careful with such people and instead have your own company,” Nyagarama said.
“If you have qualified and you have tendered well why cant you get the tender, the rumours being spread around that the procurement is the most corrupt department are allegations brought about by those who lose tenders, we cannot award everybody a tender we only award the winning bidders, so those who lose tend to spoil the name of the procurement and county government,” Nyaragarama added.
The county government of Nyamira under the leadership of Governor Nyagarama has been criticized of neglecting the youths, allegations that the governor is denying .
