Speaking on Monday in Rigoma ward, county woman representative Alice Chae expressed her disappointment in the formation of groups and urged residents to work with relevant government offices to form social–economic groups for their empowerment.

She said different government institutions could not be able to help people at individual levels, and vowed to continue supporting those ready to register their groups.

“Social groups are becoming relevant in economic empowerment and as residents, it’s your obligation to work with government  officers to ensure quick registration of these groups for your own benefit,” she said.

“Even my office or other well-wishers cannot be able to help you at an individual level. We need to see more groups formed so that money can be pumped to uplift you social status in the community. I am ready to register those willing to heed my advice,” she added.

The former Egesa FM presenter urged youths to be in the forefront in group registration and challenged them to be innovative by venturing into entrepreneurship.

“I want particularly to encourage youths to venture into entrepreneurship by forming groups which as leaders can pump money to uplift their living standards. This is the time and those who wait may lose substantially,” she said.
