Speaking to this writer, Abdalla Ismail, a renowned businessman from the region  intimated that there is bigger need for all Muslim leaders to utilize every opportunity availed to them to inform the Muslim citizenry on the need to acquire valid voter’s card in deadliness for the forth-coming general elections slated for August this year. 

Abdalla further pointed out that massive citizen participation in the process will widely safeguard the vested interests of the Muslim brotherhood in all matters pertaining to leadership and representation that will transform economic development in the NEP region. 

This comes at a time when the independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is expected to conduct a vibrant one-month mass voter registration exercise starting from this January to early February. 

IEBC has disclosed that it is targeting to register over four million new voters.
