Residents from Machakos county have been urged to reject leaders fueling animosity among them.
This was said by Kangundo parliamentary seat aspirant Rose Wambua on Monday in Kangundo market while addressing residents.
Wambua said it was unfortunate that politicians, who are supposed to be role models, were instead doing the contrary for their own selfish political ambitions.
She noted that the continuous fight between Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua and his deputy have paralysed development in the region.
She asked residents not to give a chance to leaders who are bent on dividing them but instead show them what they can offer them as residents.
"Don't waste your time listening to someone who is not development oriented, one who is out to tarnish other leader's names always instead of concentrating on what they were elected to do," said Wambua.
She urged residents to put their leaders on toes in order to ensure the get the best from them.
