Mining Cabinet Secretary (CS) Dan Kazungu has appealed to Kenyans to reject opposition leader Raila Odinga’s National Resistance Movement (NRM).Kazungu claimed that Raila wants to use NRM to get power forcefully.Speaking to journalists in Malindi Town on Sunday, the Mining CS said opposition leaders have failed to seek votes through the ballot and are now devising unlawful means to get power. He said the opposition’s resistance movement is a threat to the country’s stability, adding that it should be dealt with accordingly and treated as an outlawed group.Kazungu said opposition’s plan to get power through the back door will not work. He stated that the Jubilee government will not entertain opposition leaders who want to cause animosity among Kenyans. The CS asked Raila to retire and allow young leaders to take charge of the country.“Raila Odinga and others should retire from politics and stop bothering Kenyans. They have become a nuisance and must go home,” said Kazungu. The CS said the country has stalled because of too much politicking by opposition leaders.Kazungu, however, called on Kenyans to pray for peace and not to be swayed into violence by selfish politicians who are hungry for power.NASA leaders have been on the receiving end after Raila announced that the alliance has transformed into a National Resistance Movement.A section of politicians allied to Jubilee now want the new movement to be banned, equating it to an outlawed criminal group.
