The third witness, Edward Mwangi Gatonye testified before Milimani Chief Magistrate that the couple had a disagreement a day before the murder.

The accused, Ruth Kamande who was recently crowned Miss Langata Women’s Prison is facing murder charges following the death of Farid Mohammed on September 20th 2015 in Buru Buru Estate.

Mr Gatonye, uncle to the deceased told the court that he visited the couple’s home after failing to get a response from his nephew seeking feedback over a party they were supposed to attend.

During the visit, Mr Gatonye learned that the accused had blocked the deceased SIM Card after she tried to get his phone security code following a discovery of old love letters from boyfriends’ high school days.

In the course of the visit, the witness informed the deceased that the party had been cancelled upon which he expressed disappointment as he has eargerly wanted to attend the party to avoid fighting with the accused.

The court heard that Mr Gatonye had known the accused for only two months but had seen tension in the relationship. The couple also argued on whether or not the accused would move in with the deceased.

About 24 hours later, a relative phoned Mr Gatonye that Farid has been murdered. The case continues from 24th-26th October 2016.
