Western Stima chairman Laban Jobita has pointed fingers at sabotage as the reason they were relegated from the Kenya Premier League at the end of the 2017 season.
Jobita said there was a deliberate scheme where his men were 'made to go down'.
"It's a tough one to take considering the support we get from our sponsor, Kenya Power. I still don't think we had bad players in 2017, we went down because of sabotage, we were made to go down," he said as reported by Futaa.
He said some players working in cohorts with 'stakeholders' at the electricity company played a big role in seeing the side relegated after finishing on an impressive 6th place in 2016.
"From February to June the saboteurs were some players but we sorted out the issue in June. In the second leg, we were sabotaged by stakeholders," he said.
"We've identified them and I can promise you we are going to deal with them, we want to have a clean team in 2018 and as such we have to deal with such elements," he added.
