[Photo/Cotu]The Central Organization of Trade Unions (Cotu) has called off the tea plantation workers' strike.Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli said the Industrial Court directed the Kenya Agricultural and Plantation Worker's Union (KAPWU) to call off strike ahead of a hearing in a case in which the workers are demanding implementation of the 2014/2015 Collective Bargaining Agreement, slated for December 20.Addressing the press on Tuesday, Atwoli who is also the KAPWU secretary general, asked the workers to go back to work as soon as possible. Atwoli had called for the strike three weeks ago.Several multinational tea firms had lost close to Sh300 million following the strike, with a section of tea warehouse being razed down at the Finlays Tea Estate in Kericho.
