[Photo/Patrick Khaemba]Earlier this week, the court acquitted 12 Trans Nzoia County officials, who had been arraigned to answer to charges of irregular purchase of the building housing the new Teaching and Referral Hospital. Governor Patrick Khaemba said the acquittal is a great development for the County "and I am glad that the bottlenecks that have frustrated our efforts to deliver a world-class facility to our people, are now over."He said his county had faced a myriad of challenges, most of which have been driven by selfish political interests at the expense of meaningful development. "Gladly though, these challenges have not weakened our resolve as a people and we have continued to champion the development agenda we set out in our elaborate Kazi Kwa Mpango manifesto."Khaemba said his administration would continue to prudently employ adequate resources to ensure that the Referral Hospital project is complete and open to the public before the close of 2018. This applies to all other County projects that have been treated to similar challenges. It is my wish that we continue working (together) towards a common goal to ensure that our people realize the true potential of devolution."Khaemba urged residents to endeavour to pursue common good and minimize on divisive politics, for the benefit of the future generations.
