Striking doctors employed by the Kisumu county government will not be sacked.
Dr Elizabeth Ogaja, Kisumu County Minister for Health, said she is yet to receive a communication on the sacking of doctors on strike.
“Sacking has to be done in a systematic way. I cannot sack them without an official communication either from the President’s office or Council of Governors office,” said Dr Ogaja.
This comes after several county government's took disciplinary measures against doctors on strike.
Already, the Kenyatta National Hospital has sacked 12 doctors while 48 others are under investigation.
The doctors have been striking for the past three months with all negotiations forms hitting a dead end.
