Kenya Premier League side Bandari FC recorded a much-needed win against their local rivals Modern Coast Rangers in a pre-season match staged at the Mbaraki Stadium on Saturday. The win comes barely a week after the side was walloped 2-0 by Mwatate United in another friendly match played in Wundanyi. The all-important goal was scored by a promising midfielder Darius Msagha who drove home from a close range having squandered some other goal scoring opportunities earlier on.However, as the match went on, Rangers were allowed too many chances and they nearly pulled the scores level on the 80th minute when former Western Stima man Francis Ocholla drove a powerful shot at the edge of the box but Bandari custodian Wilson Oburu was equal to the task as he parried the ball away to preserve the docker's slender win.For Bandari coach Paul Nkata whose side has been performing dismally during the pres-season, the win will serve as a moral-booster ahead of the league kick-off.The match was used as part of the preparation for the KPL 2017 season whose kick-off date remains unknown due to a series of legal battles between KPL and FKF.
