The Jubilee Party National Elections Appeals Tribunal has ordered for a repeat of nominations for MP position in Ainabkoi, Uasin Gishu county.
The repeat will however be conducted only at one polling centre, Munyaka primary school.
Ainabkoi MP Samuel Chepkonga had filed an appeal after he lost to newcomer William Chepkut in the Jubilee party primaries last week by a margin of 129 votes.
Chepkut, a long time personal aide of former powerful Kanu-era Minister Nicholas Biwott, was declared the winner with 13,685 votes while Chepkonga garnered 13,556 votes.
In his appeal, Chepkonga had claimed some polling stations among them Munyaka were left open until 3am on Wednesday yet they were supposed to be closed at 5pm, Tuesday.
The decision has given a political lifeline to to the vocal MP who is also National Assembly Legal Affairs Chairman.
